  3. SpellQuencers are KeyQuencer macros designed to add quick spell checking to most any app ﾑ for example, SimpleText ﾑ that does not have a spell check feature.

  5. BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  6.  
  7. ･ Excalibur
  8. ･ KeyQuencer version 2.0 or higher for the regular version
  9. ･ KeyQuencer Lite 2.0 or higher for the ﾒLightﾓ version
  10. ･ Any requirements of the previous programs, so read their ﾒread meﾓ files
  11.  
  12. KEYQUENCER EXTENSION REQUIREMENTS

  14. ･ SpellQuencers requires the following extensions:
  15.     SwitchApp
  16.     Clipboard
  17.     Key
  18.     Open
  19.     Application
  20.     Quit
  21.     WaitEngine
  22.     Wait
  23.  
  24. ･ Light SpellQuencers requires the following extensions:
  25.     SwitchApp
  26.     Clipboard
  27.     Key
  28.     Open
  29.     Application
  30.     Quit

  33. ･ ﾒSet Excalibur to check on startﾓ requires the following extensions:

  35.     WaitApp
  36.     Menu
  37.     Wait
  38.     Button
  39.     Message

  41. ･ Miss even one extension and you will get an error message.

  43. INSTALLATION
  44.  
  45. 1. Open the KQ Macro editor (default keystroke Command-Option K).
  46. 2. Make sure your Installed Macros suitcase is open (if not choose ﾒOpen Installed Macrosﾉﾓ in the File menu).
  47. 3. Under the File menu, select ﾒImport Suitcaseﾉﾓ (or ﾒImport Macrosﾉﾓ in Lite).
  48. 4. In the ﾒOpenﾓ dialog, go to the ﾒSpellQuencers 2.1 ﾄﾓ folder and open the suitcase ﾒSpellQuencers 2.1ﾓ (or the Light version).
  49. 5. Two new macros will show up called ﾒSQ-Checkﾓ and ﾒSQ-Replace.ﾓ They have comments so you can understand how the macro is constructed. These comments might even help you construct your own macros. You can also strip the comments to free up some memory. You can also redefine the keystrokes if you do not like the defaults.

  51. USING ﾒSET EXCALIBUR TO CHECK ON STARTﾓ

Excalibur needs to be set to ﾒOpen the clipboard and goﾓ for SQ to work.  Now you could read the manual and learn how to do this yourself (highly recommended). But since you have a neat macro engine installed, I feel like showing off what KQ can do. The included app ﾒSet Excalibur to check on startﾓ is a stand alone application that will (surprise) set Excalibur to check on start.

  55. USAGE

  57. ･ In your document, select the text you want to check and invoke the check macro (control-= is the default).
  58. ･ After the spell check, invoke the replace macro to return to the previous application (control-shift-= is the default). The corrected clipboard is automatically saved.
  59. ･ The macros are designed to save the contents of the clipboard before you spell check so you do not lose any important contents. You should use the replace macro even if you do not have changes to restore the pre-spell check contents of the clipboard!
  60. ･ As much as these macros have been used on my Power Mac and by those of you who took the time to write in, here is a DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for data loss incurred for the use of these macros and application. The best advice is, to quote Robin Williams, ﾒS.O.S.ﾓ ﾑ ﾒSAVE OFTEN, SWEETIEﾓ and to backup all your essential work regularly.

  64. I have been a KQ user for several years, going back to version 1.x. It is an indispensable piece of software well worth the retail price. Hard to believe the original only cost $10. Of course, I would never go back 1.x because I like the AudioCD commands.

  66. I wrote the ﾒFor KeyQuencer 2.0ﾉﾓ KeyQuencer Macros in the text file included with Excalibur 2.3. Since then I have spent time debugging these macros because I write so much using text editors.

I got tired of losing the clipboard contents whenever I spell checked until I wrote version 2.0. Thanks go out to Alessandro Levi Montalcini the creator of KQ and to Rick Zaccone for including my first macros in the 2.3 release. Programmers like these are the people who make the Mac OS so much better!

  80. 2.1 - Adds the ﾒKQ Liteﾓ version of the macros and the ﾒSet Excalibur to check on startﾓ application. For nitpickers, I retimed the macros because KQ Lite lacks so many cool extensions like ﾒFile,ﾓ ﾒAudioCDﾓ and ﾒWaitEngine.ﾓ I also expanded the manual and added a so-called piece of ﾒBonus Software.ﾓ
